Mariposa Elementary School held it's annual A-thon fundraiser May 9th. Every year the PTA sponsors this all day event to raise money for the student needs on the campus. The A-thon provides a welcomed conclusion to STAR testing and is a productive fundraiser for the school. At scheduled times classes come out individually so students may race through an inflatable obstacle course as many times as possible. Each student recieves a stamp every lap, the goal is to raise funds based how many "laps" each student completes. Entertainment was provided by Radio Disney so students could enjoy other games, music and dancing as part of this festive event. The A-thon committee Chairs, Jennifer Litchfield, Wendy Glaub and Jamie Kogler, worked hard to make sure the day was well organized and safe. The goal of this years A-thon is to raise enough funds to install a running track around the perimeter of the field. The track would benefit students as well as the surrounding neighborhood in promoting health and fitness. Donations or support would be gladly appreciated by contacting the Mariposa School office at (909)794-8620.
